Welcome to the official Shades of Love LKN!
What is Shades of LOVE?
Shades of Love is a 501(c)3 non-profit community organization that was founded in June 2016 to promote in helping bridge together our communities, and our country through action, acceptance, understanding, and LOVE.
Heather Edmunds, founder for Shades of Love, is a Mooresville local, married to her sweetheart who is a Mooresville Firefighter/Paramedic, and together they have two beautiful biracial little boys. In July of 2016, the current events and struggles that many communities were and are still facing really hit home for the Edmunds family. Heather is a full time professional photographer, owner of Moments by Heather Edmunds Photography. Using her passion of photography, Heather wanted a way to use that drive to impact and aid in mending the community.
What is the purpose?
Shades of Love LKN focuses on encompassing the concept of showcasing a positive view of our minority communities and in so building hope for children and families through education, advocacy, and action.
Through Shades of Love, Heather’s goal is to help educate and demonstrate how this is a time when people need to come together, come together to love one another, appreciate one another, and truly care about each other as PEOPLE, regardless of one’s shade of color.
Since starting Shades of Love in 2016, the purpose still remains to magnify that positive image, however doing so through helping support and provide services to minorities in the community, showing LOVE and kindness, and most importantly giving hope.
Heather is always looking for volunteers to help with events and projects. If you think you would be interested, feel free to email email@example.com. The community events are run solely on donations, and help from the community. In March 2018, the organization became an official 501(c)3 non-profit, so your donations are tax deductible and even more appreciated.
